Dharamshala, October 3, 2019: No one withdrew on the last date for withdrawal of nomination for the Dharamshala assembly by-election today, and all the 7 candidates including 5 Independent remain in the fray.
Now, the situation is very clear that the challenge will remain equal for both, BJP and Congress candidates by rebels of both the parties.
Punish Padha, son of former MLA Mool Raj Padha, poses as a challenge to Congress’s Vijay Indra Karna, while the challenge of Rajesh Chaudhary is also there for BJP’s Vishal Nehria.
The official candidates of both the Congress and the BJP will have to fight with their own people apart from fighting with each other.
After the closing of the withdrawal time on Thursday, now seven candidates will try their luck in the electoral arena in Dharamshala.
Election officer Dr.Harish Gajju today allotted election symbols to the candidates. Independent Subhash Shukla was allotted Letter Box and Camera symbol was allotted to Rajesh Chaudhary. Punish Padha was allotted Bat, Dr Mohan Lal Dhiman got Telephone and Nisha Katoch was given Flashlight symbol.
The polling in Dharamshala constituency will be held on 21st October and result shall be declared on 24th October.
This seat was lying vacant as Kishan Ka[poor, BJP MLA of Dharamshala was elected MP in the recently held general elections .
