Ludhiana, August 13, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney directed officials from various departments to work on mission mode for the maximum registration of eligible voters for the SGPC elections.
During a meeting in her office, the DC emphasized on actively working in the field to enhance the number of voters before the September 16 deadline. She asked officials to ensure a smooth submission process for the registration forms. She urged BLOs/patwaris to reach out to all villages/mohallas to ensure that no eligible person is left behind in the registration process.
Sawhney also highlighted that the registration forms are available on the district administration’s website and encouraged people to download and submit them to their BLOs/patwaris within the given timeframe. Furthermore, she instructed officials to raise awareness through camps, farmers' groups, co-operative societies, ANMs, anganwari/asha workers, and others to maximize enrollment in Ludhiana.
The voter registration process will continue until September 16. Voter lists will be prepared and printed from September 17 to October 8. The preliminary e-roll will be published on October 9, and claims and objections will be accepted until October 29. The final voters’ list is scheduled for publication on November 26.
