SUCH COMPETITIONS WOULD PROVE BENEFICIAL FOR EDUCATING STUDENTS ABOUT SUBJECTS SUCH AS HISTORY/RELIGION: ASHISH KUMAR
Ludhiana, June 10, 2019: Shabad, Sangeet and Gurbani competitions related to 550th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was organised at Government Senior Secondary School, Basti Jodhewal. here. The Punjab government has already decided to hold year round functions to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru and the founder of the faith.
While providing information, Deputy DEO (Secondary) Mr Ashish Kumar informed that such competitions prove beneficial for educating students as well as increase their interest in subjects such as history and religion.
School Principal Mr Rajesh Kumar informed that the students were asked to write essays about the teachings and life of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that the school teachers also motivated the students to participate in such competitions as they bring positivity into the lives of the students.
The winners of these competitions were awarded prizes by the school principal and staff. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mrs Puja Sharma, Mrs Manjit Kaur, Mrs Geetanjali Puri and Mrs Lovely.
