Hyderabad, November 6, 2015: IIMBUE, the IIM Bangalore Alumni Association’s first ever Alumni Leadership Conclave announced nationally here in Hyderabad today.

Hyderabad is the hub of IIT & IIMB Alumni.  IIMB Alumni Association Hyderabad is a very strong chapter with 350 plus members.

Addressing the press conference here in city today Saif Qureishi, President and Harish Mittal, Convenor of the Leadership Summit and Bhanu Varla, President of Chapter at Hyderabad, they informed that it would be held in IIM Bangalore in December from 11 to 13th. Nearly 15000 IIT and IIM graduates settled across the globe are expected to take part in this mega networking Leadership Conclave

The summit will bring IIMB alumni together with leading thinkers from Business, Sports,  Entertainment and other fields. Interactive sessions, fire side chats, meaningful connections with casual catch ups and visiting the old haunts are on the agenda.

Shah Rukh Khan will open the event on the 11th night where he will give the keynote address.

The other speakers include Shashi Tharoor, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Azim Premji, Kabir Bedi, Vijay Amritraj, Anil Kumble and others who will speak on Leadership in their respective fields. Members from overseas, earliest batches, women entrepreneurs as well as recent graduates have registered by the droves. The event promises to be engaging, energising and enhancing in keeping with IIMB tagline.

IIMB celebrated its 42nd Foundation Day recently and has been grooming business leaders from 1976. It also boasts of producing the maximum number of startups from amongst all the IIMs.

With this backdrop, IIMBUE 2015 – IIMB Leadership Summit where 1000 members and guests, from all over the world, are expected to gather in Bangalore, at The Leela Palace and IIMB Campus, from 11-13th December. IIMBUE would be a platform for the IIMB Alumnus to get together once a year to network, imbibe and share at a global level. The demography of the alums attending the event would be CEOs, CXOs, senior management of corporates, and owners of their own ventures and businesses.

Objectives therefore are threefold

1.            Strengthen the engagement of alumni with the institute and with each other

2.            Engage leaders from all walks of life to shape global agendas

3.            Leverage Alumni power to enhance the Global Competitiveness of IIMB.

The first in the series of summits is being put together by Harish Mittal (IIMBUE Convenor & President of the Alumni Association - Bangalore Chapter), along with a team of IIMB Alumnus, in cognizant with an advisory board consisting of Saif Qureishi (President of IIMBAA Council), Professor Vasanthi Srinivasan (Chairperson IIMB Alumni Affairs), Professor Sushil Vachani (Director of IIMB) and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw (Chief Patron of the Summit and Chairman of the Board of Governors – IIMB).

Saif Qureishi said: “We understand that our alumni play a critical role in enhancing the global competitiveness of the school. We have taken the next big step of getting the alumni to come together and connect at a mega forum, once a year, at IIMBUE.”

Harish Mittal, Convenor of the Leadership Summit said, “Through this Leadership Summit, we aim to enhance the engagement of alumni with the Institute, reconnect with the IIMB community and provide a thought leadership platform for alumni to engage with many great minds. All the Alumni Association Chapter of IIMB worldwide are working towards the Summit and we are looking forward to a mega event.”
