Shanti Asiatic School awarded with ‘Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-22’ by Ministry of Education
The Bopal unit of Shanti Asiatic School (SAS), a leading chain of CBSE schools in India run by the Chiripal Group, has been awarded the “Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-22” by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Ahmedabad, July 9, 2022: The Bopal unit of Shanti Asiatic School (SAS), a leading chain of CBSE schools in India run by the Chiripal Group, has been awarded the “Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-22” by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The feat achieved by the school represents it’s commitment towards providing best in class infrastructure with sanitation and hygiene practices leading to good health of students, improvement in their attendance, reduction in dropout rate, and better learning outcomes.
Over 1,800 schools participated from the Ahmedabad district. Despite the strong competition, SAS received five stars by excelling in each category.The award was presented by the DDO Ahmedabad & Deputy DPEO of Ahmedabad at Sardar Patel Hall Zila Panchayat.
While receiving the award, Abhay Ghosh, Director-Principal, SAS, Bopal, said, “We are extremely happy to have received “Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar” this year. Our prime focus at Shanti Asiatic School has always been the health and wellbeing of our students and one of the ways of ensuring it is by being vigilant and ensuring best-possible water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools. We have excelled in integrating our infrastructure with sanitation and hygiene practices to secure a healthy school environment that protects children from illness and exclusion.”

The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) has been instituted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to recognize, inspire and celebrate excellence in sanitation and hygiene practice in schools. The purpose of the SVP is to honour schools that have undertaken significant steps towards fulfilling the mandate of the Swachh Vidyalaya Campaign. SVP is based on IT-enabled assessment of WASH infrastructure, hygienic practices and COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
The categories for the evaluation were water, handwashing with soap, operation & maintenance, behaviour change and capacity building & COVID-19 preparedness and response.
