Sharda School of Engineering and Technology recently hosted its internal hackathon in preparation for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024. The event aimed to engage students in innovative problem-solving by addressing real-world challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, the University's Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Sharda School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Parmanand, emphasized that the Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative designed to foster innovation and bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. By participating in this prestigious competition, students are encouraged to think critically, apply their expertise, and propose creative solutions to real-world issues.
During the internal hackathon, more than 200 teams presented their innovative ideas to a distinguished panel of evaluators. Following an intense round of presentations, 80 teams advanced to the second round. Out of these, 50 teams will be shortlisted for data submission on the SIH portal, with the goal of securing nominations for the SIH Grand Finale.
Esteemed faculty members including Dr. Anil Kumar Sagar, Dr. Ganesh Gupta, Dr. Pratima Valde, Dr. R. Rajesh Kannan, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Sujoy Kumar Dey, Dr. Sonia Setia, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Rani Astya and Dr. Vishal Jain were present at the event.
