Shikhar Dhawan shares his life lessons from his cricket journey to mentorship in Amazon MX Player’s fitness reality show Battleground

Mumbai, April 17, 2025:  Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free streaming service, raises the stakes with Battleground— a high-octane fitness reality show that fuses intense physical challenges, strategic gameplay, and mental endurance. Within the ‘Battleground house, contestants are pushed to their physical and emotional limits as they compete for strength, stamina, and self-belief. Cricket icon Shikhar Dhawan steps in as the Super Mentor, bringing a grounded yet powerful presence to the show. Drawing from his years on the pitch, he offers guidance rooted in experience, composure, and positive leadership. Teams are led by Asim Riaz, Rajat Dalal, Rubina Dilaik, and Abhishek Malhan, each leading their squads through an intense journey of resilience, growth, and unfiltered rivalries.

Reflecting on his evolution from cricket icon to mentor on the show, Shikhar Dhawan shared, “Cricket taught me a lot about life, especially how to keep moving forward even when things don’t go your way. It strengthened my belief in manifestation, discipline, and true leadership, where earning the trust of a team, staying calm under pressure, and radiating positive energy matter most.”

Speaking about the contestants' journey on Battleground and how it mirrors his experiences on the cricket field, he added, “It reminds me a lot of my time on the field. You can have great skills, but without the right mindset, you won’t last long. After a point, success becomes a blend of both.  I’ve seen a few contestants who are starting to strike that balance, while others are still building their mental game. Watching how they’re handling the pressure and slowly building their confidence is fascinating. Some even come across as overconfident— which isn’t always a bad thing. They’ve got the attitude, now I’m keen to see if they can back it up with performance.”
