Shivraj V. Patil exchanges greetings with people on ‘at home’ at Punjab Raj Bhavan

Chandigarh, August 15, 2013: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shivraj V. Patil, was ‘At Home’ with distinguished citizens of Punjab and Chandigarh, today on the lush green lawns of Punjab Raj Bhawan.

The invitees from different walks of life started converging on Punjab Raj Bhavan before the start of the ceremony to greet the Governor. The pathway of Punjab Raj Bhavan was tastefully decorated to receive the distinguished guests. The ‘At Home’ function began as the Punjab police band played the National Anthem.

Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal was the first to greet the Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh. Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana, High Court, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, former Punjab Governor, Lt. Gen. BKN Chhibber, Sikander Singh Maluka, Punjab Education Minister, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Punjab Finance Minister, former MP, Satya Pal Jain, Sanjay Tandon, President BJP, Senior defence, civil and police officers of Punjab and Chandigarh Administration were present at the function. Office bearers of all the political parties greeted the Governor on the occasion.

The Punjab Governor, Shivraj V. Patil intermingled with the august gathering. He interacted with the freedom fighters, serving and retired army officers on this special day. The Governor said that the nation was proud of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters in the freedom struggle.

Prominent amongst others who greeted the Punjab Governor, included, Punjab Chief Secretary, Rakesh Singh, UT Mayor Subhash Chawla, Adviser to Administrator K.K. Sharma,   M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Anil Kumar, Home Secretary V.K. Singh, Finance Secretary, Upadhaya, Inspector General of Police,   Deputy Commissioner, Mohd Shyin, Naunihal Singh, SSP  were also present on the occasion.
