SHOOTOUT TAKES PLACE DURING BROAD DAYLIGHT AT FEROZEPUR, ONE INJURED

Ferozepur, July 30, 2018: Panic was spread when a shootout took place today afternoon during broad daylight in the heart of the city in which a youth, identified as Gurkirtan Singh son of Nirwair Singh, resident of Village Killi was injured.
As per information, Gurkirtan had come to a private maternity hospital situated backside the civil hospital to meet one of his relatives. Harpreet Singh, an eyewitness and relative of Gurkirtan told the media persons that Gurkirtan was standing outside the hospital, suddenly few undefined bike riders came and started arguments with Gurkirtan. “Unexpectedly they started firing with pistols on Gurkirtan and shot three fires on him. Two bullets hit on Gurkirtan’s legs. They also hit Gurkirtan with their pistol on his head and after that they ran away from the spot”, said Harpreet.
The news was spread like a wild fire in the town. Senior police officials including DSP Yadwinder Singh Bajwa reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Meanwhile, Gurkirtan was admitted in civil hospital where his condition is reportedly stable.
Yadwinder Singh, DSP said that the police are checking the CCTV footage. “The police have recorded the statement of Gurkirtan. He has identified one of the accused as the mask of the accused was removed during the incident. We are hopeful very soon all the accused will be nabbed”, said DSP.
“During the preliminary investigation, it has come to fore that the accused were using country made pistols. The police have also recovered shells of the cartridges used by the accused”, DSP further added.
