New Delhi, October 29, 2024: As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering safe mobility across India, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) organized the 10th Inter-School Competition on ‘Road Safety’ from October 25 to 28. The four-day competition, held at Gyan Mandir Public School, Naraina Vihar, New Delhi, is part of SIAM's broader `Safe Journey’ initiative. The event brought together young minds from schools across the region to participate in activities emphasizing the importance of safe and responsible mobility.

The annual inter-school competition provided students with a dynamic platform to creatively engage with road safety themes, encouraging them to understand and advocate for safer mobility practices. 23 engaging competitions, including E-Poster Making, Jingle Creation, Logo Designing, Presentations on Road Safety, Brochure Designing, Short Film Making, and Photography, encouraged participants to think deeply about road safety. With participation from over 1,500 students representing 52 schools, the event showcased students' creativity and road safety awareness through a series of diverse competitions. Judged by a panel of academic experts, each competition was evaluated with fairness and transparency, celebrating the students' dedication and ingenuity.

Reflecting on the event's impact, Prashant K Banerjee, Executive Director of SIAM, said, “Teaching the importance of road safety to young minds is crucial in cultivating a culture of responsibility and awareness on our roads. Road safety is a collective responsibility, and SIAM’s initiative emphasizes interactive learning to help students embrace key safety principles. Our longstanding partnership with Yamaha Motor India, Rosmerta Technologies and Gyan Mandir Public School has been invaluable in driving this mission forward. The enthusiasm displayed by students this year strengthens our commitment to organizing such events and promoting the message of ‘Safe Mobility’ nationwide.”
