MP Arora sent his team with NHAI personnel to both facilities and made sure work is going on. The structure of two bridges is to be manufactured by New Life Infra, Kotkapura (Faridkot district). Presently, of the two structures, the work of manufacturing of one bridge is already on and it is likely that the work will be completed by next week after which all parts (Total 397) of the structure will be dispatched by New Life Infra, Kotkapura for the site along the Sidhwan Canal in Ludhiana. All the parts will be assembled at the site for installing it over the Sidhwan Canal. The manufacturing of this structure was started about a month ago. The manufacturing of the second structure of the bridge is likely to be started next month by New Life Infra, Kotkapura.
The structure of two bridges is to be manufactured by Durga Engineering, Yamuna Nagar (Haryana). Presently, of the two structures, the work of manufacturing of one bridge is already on and it is likely that the work will be completed by next week after which all parts of the structure will be dispatched by the manufacturing company, for the site along the Sidhwan Canal in Ludhiana. All the parts will be assembled at the site for installing it over the Sidhwan Canal. The work of manufacturing of this structure was started about 15 days ago. The manufacturing of second structure of the bridge is likely to be completed by March end, Said Brajesh Choubey of Durga Engineering, Yamuna Nagar.
The installation of each bridge will take at least one month.
The four bridges are being constructed approximately 300 meters from the F2 Raceway Bridge and Barewal Bridge, on both the right and left sides.
This project was initiated due to efforts made by Arora, who persistently pursued the matter with NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav. After multiple efforts, the NHAI finally approved the proposal, acknowledging the urgent need to address traffic congestion.
Many Ludhiana residents had urged Arora to push for this project, recognising it as a crucial step in easing commuter woes. Arora expressed confidence that once completed, the bridges would significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the South City area. With rapid commercial growth—including hotels, restaurants, and residential complexes—on both sides of the Sidhwan Canal, traffic has increased considerably.
Arora remains optimistic that the completion of these four bridges will bring a major transformation in the vehicular movement, ensuring smoother traffic flow.
