Sidhwan Canal water front develops into perfect picnic spot for residents
Large number of Ludhiana residents, accompanied by their children, attend fun filled activities today
Ludhiana: Ludhiana is known for its unique & innovative approach and lifestyle. In a yet another move, the city today witnessed perfect blend of Healthy Living & Recreation through Fitify - Healthy Citizens Healthy Ludhiana.
Under the able guidance of the Cabinet Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu and with support of residents, Fitify is a social campaign which has been launched to subtract boredom and add fun with fitness to the lives of city dwellers. Amid the busy schedules & deadlines, often people forget to focus on their health. Fitify is organised to encourage the residents to follow a healthy regime for a healthy & long life.
At the event, various activities including cycling, Zumba, bhangra, yoga, games, magic show were the highlight points. Fitify was held on a bright Sunday morning today.
This event was attended by family members of Cabinet Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu, his wife Mrs Mamta Ashu, Mrs Poonam Sharma, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, LIT Chairman Raman Balasubramaniam, MCL Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, Councillors Hari Singh Brar, Dilraj Singh, Rashi Hemraj Aggarwal, senior congress leader Baljinder Singh Sandhu, besides several others.
The event was declared the most lively and unique event of Ludhiana where people not only did physical exercises but also enjoyed to their bits tapping on the beats. The residents also appreciated the government and administration for giving us the beautiful and serene waterfront to revive & refresh in the middle of nature.
While showing satisfaction over this event, Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that it is a matter of great pride that a large number of residents, accompanied by their children, visited the Sidhwan Canal Water Front and enjoyed. He assured that more such activities would be organised at this place in the coming days and very soon, such events would be made a weekly feature.
On this occasion, he also informed that the second phase of this project, starting from Pakhowal Road till Gill Road would also start shortly as the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared. He also assured that more such projects for the betterment of residents would be started in the city.
