One of the most prominent Sikhs in Europe, Bhupinder Singh Holland, is a name to reckon with.
An author of books like How Europe is indebted to the Sikhs, Role of Sikhs in Europe during World War One 1914 – 1918, How Europe is indebted to the Sikhs, Role of Sikhs in Europe during World War Two 1939 – 1945 and The Dutch Sikhs- A Brief History, has made colossal contribution to the Sikh cause.
The latest book, Sikhs in World War- I published by Ranjodh Singh’s publication house, Wisdom Collection, is yet another endeavour by the writer to conserve the dignified history of Sikh race. And when stalwarts of Sikh religion like Avtar Singh ji Makkar, President, SGPC and writers like Bhupinder Singh Holland stand up for a cause in sync with each other, the outcome is bound to be progressive.
Avtar Singh ji Makkar, while releasing Sikhs in World War- I at Ramgarhia Girls College emphasised on the need of spreading awareness about the Sikh community. To achieve this objective, he proposed to purchase one thousand copies of the book which he will further donate to various Sikh libraries, Gurudwaras, embassies and Sikh Institutions all over the world. By distributing this gem of Sikh history, he aims to disseminate the knowledge about the sacrifices of Sikh martyrs who had so far been subalternised in the mainstream history. He also announced that the next book by Bhupinder Singh Holland about the role of Sikhs in World War II will be published by SGPC.
During the book release function, he also proposed to donate one lakh rupees to the college as he is a staunch supporter of female education.
Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, expressed his gratitude and said that it was a honour for his publication house to publish the encyclopedic work of Sikh history.
The Principal, Dr. Narinder Sandhu also expressed her gratefulness to Avtar Singh Makkar and said that it is due to such devout Sikhs that Sikh religion is flourishing and its message is reaching all corners of the world.
