Sita departs the mortal world and returns back to the lap of earth in Sony SAB’s Shrimad Ramayan

Mumbai: Sony SAB’s Shrimad Ramayan continues to bring to life the timeless and sacred tale of Lord Ram (Sujay Reu) and Mata Sita (Prachi Bansal) with deep emotion and devotion. The show beautifully portrays their journey, capturing the essence of dharma, love, and sacrifice. In the recent episodes, viewers witnessed a significant moment as Luv (Sourya Mandoriya) and Kush (Atharva Sharma) set out on a heartfelt journey to Mithila, to invite Raja Janak (Jiten Lalwani), Sita’s beloved father, to Ayodhya. Lord Ram planned a grand celebration, to honor Sita’s return, and welcome her with the dignity and love she rightfully deserves.

However, in the upcoming episodes, a powerful demon influenced by Shahastramukh Ravan (Praneet Bhatt), sows seeds of doubt and creates a situation where the people of Ayodhya begin questioning Mata Sita’s purity. While Lord Ram initially stands firm against these demands, the weight of circumstances drives him to give Lord Hanuman (Nirbhaya Wadhwa) the heartbreaking task of conveying to Sita that she must undergo the Agni Pariksha, hoping that she would never take a step that would separate them. However, with great resolve, Mata Sita makes a divine decision—one that ultimately leads her to return to earth, marking a profound and spiritual conclusion to her journey.

This heart-wrenching moment fills Lord Ram with deep anguish as he desperately tries to stop Mata Sita. But just as emotions run high, the Gods themselves appear to pacify him.

Prachi Bansal, who plays the role of Sita in Shrimad Ramayan, said, "Having to prove her dignity time and again, Sita decides her journey in the mortal form must come to an end. Sita in all her divinity choses to return to the depths of the earth – a place where she came from. Being a part of the show and portraying Mata Sita’s journey has been an emotional and enriching experience for me."
