Dharamshala/ Indora, March 11, 2024: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid the foundation for 14 significant development projects, valued at Rs. 143 crore, in the Indora Assembly Constituency of Kangra district on Sunday , marking a significant stride towards the area's advancement.
During a public address in Indora, CM Sukhu expressed his views on the six former Congress MLAs who defied the party line in the Rajya Sabha polls. He highlighted the detrimental impact of power addiction, leading some to betray the public mandate through nefarious attempts to destabilize the state government. However, he remained resolute, affirming that such attempts to undermine the democratically elected government would not prevail. "Facing challenges is not new to me; my political journey is testament to overcoming hurdles by working for the people's welfare, which always garners love and support in return," he stated.
CM Sukhu also criticized the BJP's attempts to tamper with democratic values through monetary influence, emphasizing that the actions of the six disqualified Congress MLAs, now under central security in various hideouts, would not be forgotten or forgiven by the public. He remarked humorously that their relocation to Rishikesh was perhaps an attempt to cleanse their sins.
Highlighting the commitment to progress, CM Sukhu announced several developmental initiatives for Indora, including the opening of a DSP office, a 33 KV substation at Moki, a tourism hotel at Damtal, and significant improvements to local infrastructure. These efforts underscore the government's dedication to enhancing the region's growth and prosperity.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister addressed the state's economic reforms, noting the previous administration's financial mismanagement and lauding his government's success in combating corruption, which has significantly boosted state revenue. A notable welfare initiative, the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Samman Nidhi Yojna, was introduced to support women financially, utilizing the state's resources.
Despite challenges, including lack of central support during natural disasters, the state government has shown resilience, offering enhanced compensation and a special relief package to affected families. Additionally, the organization of Revenue Lok Adalats has efficiently resolved numerous civil matters, demonstrating effective governance.
The event also saw appreciation from local leaders for the Chief Minister's efforts in promoting development and welfare initiatives in Indora, reflecting a collective commitment to the constituency's progress and the well-being of its residents.
