SIX VILLAGES OF KHANNA POLICE DISTRICT DECLARE THEMSELVES TO BE “DRUG FREE”
RESIDENTS GIVE IT IN WRITING, PLEDGE NOT TO INDULGE IN ANY ACTIVITY RELATED TO DRUGS POLICE DISTRICT KHANNA TO BECOME ROLE MODEL IN BUILDING A DRUG FREE SOCIETY” DHRUV DAHIYA Khanna (Ludhiana), July 28, 2018: SSP Khanna Mr Dhruv Dahiya today stated that the Mission Tandrust Punjab being started by the state government is getting good response in Khanna. He said that the residents are being regularly educated about the ill effects of drugs and that it why, the residents of six villages falling under his jurisdiction have declared themselves to be “drug free”. Prominent people from the villages as well as senior police officials were also present on the occasion. The residents of these six villages held functions in their respective villages. Mr Harsimrat Singh, DSP Samrala and Inspector Bhupinder Singh, SHO Samrala attended a function at villages Bagli Khurd and Roopa under Samrala Sub Division, Mr Rachhpal Singh, DSP Payal, Inspector Hardeep Singh, SHO Doraha, Inspector Gurmel Singh, SHO Payal and Sub Inspector Vijay Pal Singh, Incharge Police Post Rauni attended a function at village Jahangir under Police Station Doraha and village Deeva Khosa, village Deeva Mander and village Zulamgarh. During these functions, the residents announced their villages to be drug free and pledged to not indulged in any activity related to drugs. They even gave it in writing to the police that no person from their villages is a drug addict or is a drug peddler. The residents pledged that they would never support any person who is related to drug business. Mr Dahiya said that soon, other villages under Police District Khanna would also become drug free and day is not far when Khanna Police would act as a role model for building a drug free society.
