SJOBA TSD Rally 2024 concludes: Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta win Pro and Overall categories

The 37th Edition of the SJOBA TSD  Rally 2024, hosted by the St. John's Old Boys Association (SJOBA), concluded with a prize distribution ceremony at the Lalit Hotel, IT Park Chandigarh. Winners received cash prizes and awards, while all other participants were honored with certificates. Harpal Singh Malvai, President of SJOBA; Danish Singh Mangat, Secretary and Competitors Relations Officer and others were present at the prize distribution ceremony.

Chandigarh, September 30, 2024: The 37th Edition of the SJOBA TSD  Rally 2024, hosted by the St. John's Old Boys Association (SJOBA), concluded with a prize distribution ceremony at the Lalit Hotel, IT Park Chandigarh. Winners received cash prizes and awards, while all other participants were honored with certificates. Harpal Singh Malvai, President of SJOBA; Danish Singh Mangat, Secretary and Competitors Relations Officer and others were present at the prize distribution ceremony.

This year, 46 enthusiastic participants from across India, including teams from Kolkata, Mumbai, Shillong, and Uttarakhand, competed in this thrilling three-day motorsport extravaganza.

In a display of skill and tenacity, the dynamic duo of Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta soared to victory, claiming the top spot in the Overall Pro category. Following closely behind, Vikas Malik and Dinky Varghese secured the first runner-up position, while Dr. Vanishree Pathak and Kasshish Gagan Mehta proudly took third place. Notably, the champions of the Pro category mirrored these achievements in the overall standings, reinforcing their dominance across both competitions.

In the Amateur Category, Chandra Singh and Venu Rameshkumar claimed first place, while Naman Goyal, Anirudh Goyal, and Sukriti Chotani secured second, and Debashish Dutta RVD, Mrityunjoy Majumder took home third.

The Novice category saw Anil Bakshi, Sunita Bakshi and Ameya Bakshi take the spotlight, winning first place with a fantastic performance. They were followed by Vidyanand Kumar, Rajesh Karan Deo, Anuyog Verma, and Irvindeep Singh Khanna, who captured the second and third spots.

A highlight of the event was the newly introduced Specially Abled category. Demonstrating remarkable grit and determination, Digvijay Singh and Preeti Goswami raced to victory, clinching first place. Following closely behind were the duo of Ravinder Singh &  Mithun who were 1st runners- up. Shashi and Bhavna showcased their skills, earning a well-deserved  third position.

In the Above 1600cc category, Vikas Malik and Dinky Varghese showcased their incredible speed and precision, clinching first place. Dr. Vanishree Pathak, Kasshish Gagan Mehta, Neeraj Dhingra, and V Sekar followed closely behind, finishing in second and third.

Meanwhile, Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta dominated the Up to 1600cc category, taking the top honors. Raja Singh and Shantanu Grover secured a strong second place, while Gagan Kumar Mehta and Neeraj Sharma rounded out the podium in third.

In the fiercely competitive Coupe Des Dames (women) category, Dr. Vanishree Pathak and Kasshish Gagan Mehta showcased their talent, winning first place. Lt Col Reena Jha and Lalita Gowda celebrated a commendable second, while Jasmeet Kaur and Jyothi Iyengar took third.

Shailendra Singh and Sushmita Chauhan shone brightly in the couples category, taking home the first prize. Following their lead, Ramanpreet Nangli and Puneet Nangli claimed second, while Archit Vats and Akanksha secured third.

In the St. John’s category, Atul Nanda and Hardik Nanda finished the rally in first position. Meanwhile, Naman Goyal and Anirudh Goyal won second, and Raveena Verma and Br. Augustine Jairaj finished the rally in third.
