Skill Enhancement Course on `Corporate Valuation and Beyond' concludes

Chandigarh, September 11, 2024: The Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE) and University Business School held a Valedictory Function of the 30-hour Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) on 'Corporate Valuation and Beyond Using Excel-Based Financial Models'.

The hands-on course mentored by faculty and industry experts allowed students to hone their skills to estimate corporate value and learn to use earnings, book value, revenue, or other pricing multiples and comparables to price business. The highlight of the course was the emphasis on the analysis of real-world business scenarios, especially in the context of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) imperatives. Certificates were awarded to the students for successfully completing the SEC.

Chief Guest, Suneet Arora, Deputy General Manager, ICICI Bank Ltd., emphasised on the importance of narratives in valuation. Spreadsheet financial models are important, but the company's story should not be overlooked. He encouraged the students to be lifelong learners and appreciated the initiative of CSDE in this direction.
