Dharamshala: On the second day of the process of filing of the nomination papers for the Dharamshala municipal corporation elections to be held on April 7, 2021, 41 candidates filed their nominations today whereas only one person filed the papers on the first day, the Monday.
Giving this information, Assistant Election Officer and Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Dr. Harish Gajju said that Sujata Aggarwal, Urmila and Sudha Rana filled nomination papers from ward number-1 (Farsethganj) and Anubala and Rajni Devi, from ward number 2 (Bhagsunag).
Others who filed their papers are from ward number 3(McLeodganj) Maya Devi, Mohinder Singh, Ajit Kumar, Dinesh Kumar and Rajinder Kumar, Ward number4 (Kashmir House ) Neelam and Anuj Kashyap, ward number 5 (Khanjachi Mohalla) Asha and Rosy, Ward number 6 Ward (Kotwali Bazaar) Tejinder Kaur, Hardeep Gurung, Narendra Singh Jambal and Savirat Malhotra, Ward Number 7(Secretariat)Roz Bala , Ward Number 8(Sports Complex) Sunil Kumar, Ward Number 9 (Sakoh) Bhagwan Singh, Atma Ram, Sushma Kumari and Kulveet, ward Number 10( Syam Nagar) Champa Devi, Meenakshi and Anurag Kumar,Ward Number 11(Ram Nagar ) Baljit Kumar and Aneesh Sharma,Ward Number 12(Barol)Narmada, Ward Number 13 (Dari) Rajesh Kumar Sharma and Kulatar Chand Guleria, Ward Number 14(Kand ) Nisha Devi, Manju Bala and Rajni Devi,Ward number 15( Khaniara) Uma Devi, Rajni and Richa Gurung,Ward number 16(Sidhpur) Sarva Chand and Babita and from ward number 17(Sidhwari) asha.
SDM said that on March 22, only one candidate from Ward No. 15 Khaniara, Shrestha Devi, filed her nomination papers.
Tomorrow shall be the last day for filing nomination, scrutiny shall be done on 25th March and the last day of withdrawal shall be 27th of march.
Municipal Corporation elections in Dharamshala, Palampur, Mandi and Solan to be held on 7th April. Counting of votes will take place on the same day," the state election commission informed.
Congress had 14 members of 17 in the outgoing Municipal Corporation of Dharamshala.
