Social worker donates Rs.21,000 to mark World Disability Day
Renowned social activist Vipul Narang, fondly called the "Yes Man" for his readiness to assist those in need, donated Rs.21,000 to the Progressive Federation for the Blind (PFB) and Home for the Blind on the occasion of World Disability Day.
Ferozepur, November 26, 2024: Renowned social activist Vipul Narang, fondly called the "Yes Man" for his readiness to assist those in need, donated Rs.21,000 to the Progressive Federation for the Blind (PFB) and Home for the Blind on the occasion of World Disability Day.
The donation was handed over to PFB General Secretary Anil Gupta in the presence of Red Cross Secretary Ashok Behl. Speaking at the occasion, Vipul Narang expressed his joy in supporting underserved communities, particularly the differently-abled. He announced that World Disability Day celebrations would be held on December 2 and 3 at the Home for the Blind in Ferozepur.
"Helping those in need, especially the differently-abled, brings immense happiness. It is our duty to extend support wherever possible," said Narang, who is well-known for his unwavering commitment to social welfare.
Over the years, Narang has consistently supported the visually impaired, including providing e-rickshaws for their transportation needs and donating eyeglasses to underprivileged students in schools. His contributions also extend to providing sports kits to hockey players and donating blood over 50 times as part of the Rare-A-Way group.
Red Cross Secretary Ashok Behl commended the initiative, wishing the differently-abled community good health and a comfortable life.
World Disability Day, recognized globally since 1992 under the auspices of the United Nations, aims to celebrate and promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. Narang's contributions reflect the spirit of this day, inspiring others to join hands in creating an inclusive society.
