Sony SAB announces 'Aangan - Aapno Kaa': A Heartwarming Story of a Daughter's Undying Commitment to Prioritize Her Father
The show explores whether a women’s priority needs to shift after marriage
Sony SAB, celebrated for impactful storytelling and showcasing relatable content, continues to lead the way with its upcoming show, 'Aangan - Aapno Kaa'. The show centers around the deep affection and sense of duty a daughter feels for her father and delves into the emotional conflict, questioning the necessity of leaving her father post-marriage. She believes that her father doesn’t have to stop being her priority just because she has a new family after marriage. Her views encapsulate the dilemma faced by women, torn between caring for their parents while embarking on a new life with a new family. The show raises pertinent questions around certain societal norms — asserting that having a different perspective on marriage is acceptable.
'Aangan - Aapno Kaa' tells the incredible story of a strong and self-reliant daughter, named Pallavi, portrayed by Ayushi Khurana, who displays immense affection for her father, Jaidev, played by Mahesh Thakur. The show also features an impressive ensemble cast, including Neetha Shetty and Aditi Rathore, and each skillfully embodies vital roles that drive the story.
Neeraj Vyas, Business Head, Sony SAB said, “We're excited to bring 'Aangan Aapnon Kaa,' a show that presents a different take on the role women are expected to play after marriage, a concept that has not been seen on television and is sure to strike a chord with our audience. As a channel, we are keen on bringing to the fore, stories that are interesting, that display diverse perspectives, stories that compel people to think but at the same time provide them a sense of hope for the future. Aangan Aapnon Kaa is yet another step for us in that direction.”
Mahesh Thakur as Jaidev Sharma said, “The show seeks to bring forth a fresh perspective to the age-old norm of women leaving their parents behind after marriage. And being a father myself, Jaidev’s deep love for his daughters struck a personal chord with me. I am sure this endearing father-daughter bond will touch hearts and the narrative will inspire meaningful conversations about family dynamics and women’s choices.”
Ayushi Khurana as Pallavi Sharma said, “After reading the script for Aangan, I realized its uniqueness, something I hadn't seen on television before. Pallavi's character resonated with me due to the authenticity of her opinion on a conflict that many women face. Her ideology is very clear; she just wants to prioritize her love and commitment to her father above all else, which I find commendable. I genuinely hope that the audience connects with her beliefs and her journey as I have.”
