Sony SAB’s Wagle Ki Duniya actor Sumeet Raghavan’s Ganesh Chaturthi reflections: A call for change

Mumbai, September 9, 2024: Sumeet Raghvan, who has won viewers’ hearts as the beloved Rajesh Wagle in Sony SAB’s ‘Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey’, continues to entertain viewers with his relatable portrayal of a quintessential middle-class man navigating life’s ups and downs. With Ganesh Chaturthi just around the corner, Sumeet shares his deep devotion to Lord Ganesha and reflects on the festival’s significance in his life.

When asked about the importance of Ganesh Chaturthi, Sumeet said, “Ganpati Bappa holds a special place in my heart. Every work begins with invoking his blessings, and we always say 'Shree Ganesh' before anything else. To me, Ganpati Bappa is more than just a god; he represents the very essence of life. I truly love the Ganpati celebrations.”

Beyond his personal connection, Sumeet emphasized the need for responsibility during the festivities. He urged everyone to be mindful of the impact on the environment and the strain it places on public services. “I believe we need to be conscious of our actions during festivals. While we celebrate with joy, it’s important not to lose sight of our responsibilities. The environment, the police, and the common man all face pressure during this time, and we must celebrate with awareness.”

When discussing the blessings he hopes to receive from Lord Ganesha, Sumeet expressed, “As an actor, I’m content and happy. While I wish for good roles, I know it’s up to me and my performance to earn them. What I truly seek is peace of mind.”

Sumeet also touched upon the pressing issues he hopes Ganpati, as the 'vighnaharta,' can help resolve in India. “There are many challenges in the country right now, but the safety of women is the most critical. I hope that a divine force like Ganpati Bappa can inspire men to treat women with respect, dignity and equality. This, in my opinion, is the most urgent issue we face today.”

With Ganesh Chaturthi approaching, Sumeet Raghvan’s reflections offer a blend of devotion, awareness, and a heartfelt appeal for positive change, embodying the values that his show Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey consistently promotes.
