Sony SAB's Wagle Ki Duniya highlights that parenting roles are not defined by gender
‘Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey’ on Sony SAB is a family drama that mirrors the everyday challenges faced by the common man. The show continues to explore the daily struggles and triumphs of the middle-class Wagle family. In the recent episodes, the show sheds light on the perils of being a single parent. As the parent-teacher meeting takes place at Kittu’s (Mahi Soni) school, she is annoyed by the absence of her mother Yamini (Manasi Joshi). She gets irritated that her father Dakku (Deepak Pareek) has to take the place of her mother on every occasion.

As the parent-teacher meeting takes place at Kittu’s (Mahi Soni) school, she is annoyed by the absence of her mother Yamini (Manasi Joshi). She gets irritated that her father Dakku (Deepak Pareek) has to take the place of her mother on every occasion.
Frustrated by the same, Kittu seeks advice from the Wagle family, who make her realise the importance of Dakku. A few days later, Kittu is selected to be a part of an elocution in her school where the students have to speak on the topic ‘Meri Maa’. However, Dakku and the entire Wagle family are in for a surprise when Kittu begins her speech by acknowledging Dakku’s role in her life and fulfilling the responsibilities of both father and mother. Written by Pariva Pranati aka Vandana Wagle, the story beautifully portrays how a father can single-handedly fulfill the roles of both father and mother.
Pariva Pranati, who essays the role of Vandana Wagle, said, "Behind every great child is a parent who goes above and beyond, regardless of gender roles. In this storyline as well, we have tried to showcase the same. A family isn’t defined by traditional roles but by love and dedication. There are so many kids like Kittu who have one parent at home taking care of them while the other one is working. It is important to highlight the dedication and hard work that the stay-at-home fathers or mothers put in to ensure that their child gets the love of both parents.”
