SPARK Punjabi and 92.7 Big FM’s Punjab stations announce grand finale of Ambuja Big Panja League

Ludhiana, July 24, 2013: After months of auditions, Ambuja BIG Panja League has now entered its final leg. The arm-wrestling competition, organized by 92.7 BIG FM’s Punjab stations alongwith Ambuja Cements, will come to a close with a grand ceremony bringing together the strongest contestants from across the state.

To be telecast on Reliance Broadcast Network’s regional general entertainment channel, Spark Punjabi, the Grand Finale of Ambuja BIG Panja League will showcase the strength and power of 16 finalists chosen from across 57 towns in the region. To be held at Jalandhar’s CT Institute on July 27, the Grand Finale of Ambuja BIG Panja League was announced in Ludhiana by Sukhdeep Sohal, Cluster Head – Punjab, 92.7 BIG FM, Lakhwinder Singh, President – Indian Arm Wrestling Foundation, and Rajesh Jha, Zonal Head – South Punjab, Ambuja Cements. The star-studded Grand Finale of Ambuja BIG Panja League will be aired on Spark Punjabi on August 4 at 5.30pm.

Auditions for Ambuja BIG Panja League were held across 57 towns in the Malwa and Doaba regions of Punjab with over 7000 contestants coming in to try their luck to be the Panja champion of the state. At the Grand Finale, the ‘Panja Champion’ of Punjab will be crowned across the above 70 and below 70 KG categories and the winners will walk away with a cash prize of Rs.51,000. The finalists who will vie for the position of the ultimate Panja champion are Ajay Singh, Mushtaq Ali, Surinder Singh, Taranjit Singh, Buta Singh, Guriqbal Singh, Sumit and Diljeet Singh among others. Also featuring on Spark Punjabi as a televised series, the show provided a unique platform for the traditional yet exciting sport of arm wrestling reaching out to viewers across the region.
