Special camp in Civil Hospital Nawanshahr for poll staff on Dec 13
Ensure fully vaccinated staff or face action: DC to departments’ heads
Nawanshahr, December 11, 2021: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Vishesh Sarangal on Saturday directed the heads of all government departments to ensure their staff members are fully vaccinated, identified for the poll duties.
Instructing the heads, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that the a total of 3998 employees working in the various departments have been deputed in the poll duties out of which 3770 have already taken both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
He said among 3998 employees, 192 are those whose second dose is pending and 36 are such who have not taken even single dose of the vaccine. Sarangal said that among 36, some of them have given medical conditions behind for not taking any dose of Covid-19 vaccine but now they have to ensure administration of both doses which is mandatory for them to do poll duties.
He said that the administration will organize a special camp in the Civil Hospital on December 13 exclusively for those who have not taken even first dose of vaccine and to complete the vaccination course of both doses.
Deputy Commissioner said that as per instructions of the Election Commission of India, only vaccinated staff would be deployed for the poll duties and any kind of negligence on the part of the departments’ heads would not be tolerated in this regard.
He said that the vaccine is completely safe and effective and ordered all the heads of the departments to strictly adhere to the instructions. He further asked them to submit the certificate of 100-percent vaccinated staff to his office following the camp.
Sarangal told that action would be taken against negligent head under section 32 of Representation People Act 1950.
