Special lecture on cleanliness organised in PU Sanskrit department
Sanskrit department and Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, Panjab University, organised a special lecture on cleanliness today. The title of the lecture was ‘Bharat ki svachchata - pratyek nagarik ka kartavya’.
Chandigarh, July 26, 2023: Sanskrit department and Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, Panjab University, organised a special lecture on cleanliness today. The title of the lecture was ‘Bharat ki svachchata - pratyek nagarik ka kartavya’. The speaker was Vijay Bhardwaj, faculty member of the Sanskrit department. Faculty members, research scholars and students of the department attended the event.
In his lecture, Bhardwaj Bargai said, “the best way to make India glorious is spiritual purification because it is through purity that all the four goals of human life or purusharthas can be achieved“. He further stated, “Today is Kargil Day, when brave soldiers of India, who possessed purity of mind, sacrificed everything for sake of India.” Reciting Vedic mantras, Mr. Bharadwaj told the audience that the scriptures ordain both internal and external purification for all auspicious events and rituals.
Presiding over the lecture, Academic Incharge of the department Prof. V. K. Alankar said, “there is invariable relation between cleanliness and health because without cleanliness, achieving good health is impossible“. He further told that for protecting the health of a healthy person, Ayurveda states all kinds of purification. A discussion on the topic followed the lecture
