Chandigarh, January 16, 2024: The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized special lecture on the topic “Mindfulness and Holistic Based Practices for Children with Cross Disability” on Monday under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof.(Dr) Renu Vig,
Dr.Md. Saifur Rahman, Chairperson of the Department, delivered welcome note with introducing some mindfulness strategies for children with special needs. Resource person, Dr.Parvesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Govt. College, Panchkula, stated many of the key reasons of increasing stress and anxiety in daily life of human being.
Dr. Kumar also explained holistic approaches of meditation, guided imagery activity, Yoga and Ayurveda practices and discussed that how these activities are beneficial for children with special needs.
Speaker also introduced some small activities chanting the Mantras of ‘OM’ and emphasized that yoga as science of discipline and mental calmness.
