Chandigarh, December 18, 2024: As part of Distinguished Lecture Series to mark the Golden Jubilee (1974-2024) of the Department of Statistics, Panjab University (PU), the department today organised a Special Lecture on the topic “Strategies for Generalizing the Partition Problem Formulation”.

The Distinguished Speaker of the lecture was Professor Tumulesh K. Solanky, Chair and Professor, Department of Mathematics, The University of Louisiana System Foundation and Michael and Judith Russell Professor in Data/Computational Sciences University of New Orleans, New Orleans, USA.

In his lecture, Professor Solanky discussed about Multiple Comparison Procedures, Designing Experiments to Select the Best Population, Sequential/Multistage Methodologies for Normal Populations and explained the methodologies developed with Arsenic in Drinking Water etc.   

Earlier, Professor Narinder Kumar, Chairperson, Department of Statistics extended a warm welcome to the Distinguished Speaker Professor Tumulesh K. Solanky for accepting the invitation.

The lecture was well received by all the participants. All the Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students of the Department of Statistics, Panjab University, Chandigarh attended the lecture.
