New Delhi, July 8, 2017: As global fashion capitals are waking up to rich Indian handloom weaves, Indian consumers too are showing keen interest in traditional hand woven drapes. This has prompted designers to go back to craftsmen aware of age-old weaving techniques.

Promoting weavers and artisans, a special pavilion has been created at theVivaha exhibition by Entrepreneur Tarun Sarda. On the occasion of the commencement of the exhibition Celebrating Vivaha from 7th - 9th July 2017 at The Ashok Chanakyapuri, Mr. Tarun Sarda said “The initiative to promote weavers and artisans, to be promoted under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ theme will definitely assist and boost talented craftsmen and weavers by promoting their art on a global scale. In order to take this forward we have talented designers to showcase their collection. In our next edition in Ludhiana and Mumbai we are trying to reach out to more such talented designers from other parts of the country”.

The three day exhibition will comprise of the latest collections for the summer wedding season from an array of fashion designers and jewellers. The event also has an interesting mix of designer ensembles from different states also comprising of weavers and artisans.

Sh. Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Textiles & Smt. Krishna Raj Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Govt. Of India were the Chief Guests for the event, which was also supported by special guest and social activist Parull Mahaajan.

The guests of honor for the do comprised Shri Muralidhar Rao, National General Secretary BJP, Shri Manoj Tiwari, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari - Members of Parliament and Smt. Jaya Jaitly - Handicrafts curator and activist.
