Special program to honour overseas writer and scholar Charan Singh 

Jalandhar: The Post Graduate Department of Punjabi, Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a special program to honour overseas writer and scholar Mr Charan Singh whilst also releasing a book concerning his literary exploits. 
College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar Head, PG Department of Punjabi duly welcomed Charan Singh for his immensely valuable literary contributions to the field of Punjabi literature. Joint Secretary of the college Governing Council, Mr Jaspal Singh Waraich also graced the program wherein the aforementioned book edited by Prof Sonu Samrai from the Department of Punjabi was duly released for the public. 
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra lauded the services rendered by Mr. Charan Singh to the expansion of Punjabi language by virtue of his literary outputs on global level. While interacting with the students and staff of the college, Mr Charan Singh fondly relived his long association with Punjabi literature on far–away lands and engaged in an expressive interaction with the audience. On this occasion, he also shared his valuable experiences on literary creations with the students in attendance. 
Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, Department of Punjabi described the exemplary efforts put forth by Mr Charan Singh regarding the genre of poetry in Punjabi Literature while Dr Surinderpal Mand and Prof Salinder Singh also contributed to the proceedings with their poetic expressions. All the faculty members of the Department of Punjabi along with students of the department were also present on the occasion.
