Specialized paediatric liver treatment clinic launched in Chandigarh
The liver disease in children is entirely different from adults and requires experts to diagnose correctly and treat them
Chandigarh: Chaitanya Hospital, Chandigarh has entered into an agreement with Rela Hospital, Chennai for Paediatric Liver Care. Under this association, Professor Mohamed Rela and his Paediatric Liver team will conduct OPD clinics at Chaitanya Hospital, twice a month.
Talking to media during a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club on Thursday, Dr Neeraj Kumar, MD-Chaitanya Hospital said that the OPD services of this specialized liver treatment clinic would be available for twice a month. This facility shall be delivered from Chaitanya Hospital, the leading Paediatric Multispecialty hospital of this region, he said.
He said further that liver diseases in children are grossly under recognized and many children come to institutions in advanced stages either because of delay in diagnosis or lack of comprehensive treatment facilities. This specialized Liver Clinic will offer easy access to world-class paediatric liver treatment including critical medical services like liver transplantation to the patients from the Tricity as well as from this region north to Delhi.”
