Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrated at PU
Chandigarh, November 9, 2021: "Speedy Justice for the common man is the objective in celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav", stated Sh Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Law and Justice in an online Address for a programme organised jointly by The Faculty of Laws-Department of Laws, University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University Regional Centres, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur to celebrate ‘Bharat ki Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Constitutional Day 2021’,today.
He further added that India is a growing country and youngsters should come forward as mediators since necessary steps are being taken to make our nation as Global Centre of Arbitration and Mediation. He stated that ,today let's take a pledge to make a robust legal system in the country.
The Minister urged the students to be devoted towards their career and should feel proud of being associated with this prestigious University. He remembered how in earlier days, mostly all from Arunachal Pradesh took education from PU and it holds a special place in their heart.
He informed that future of students pursuing Law will be bright as many opportunities are coming.
Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University in his address stated about the journey of PU from Lahore and how it has remained committed to its objective of producing billions of minds for the service of nation.He added that he has created collaborative academic exchange ventures between various departments, Centres and research Chairs for knowledge sharing. He informed of various achievements of PU in Academics and Sports.
Dr Devinder Singh, Chairman Department of Laws and Dr Rajinder Kaur, Chairperson University Institute of Legal Studies spoke about their departments.
Prof H S Bains, Director PURC, Hoshiarpur proposed vote of thanks and shared that the Fundamental Duties are displayed at their entrance for everyone to read and follow. Senior officials of PU were present during the programme.
