Ferozepur, October 21, 2012: The three days Zonal Level Polytechnic Colleges Cricket Tournament concluded yesterday and Surjit Kumar Jyani, Cabinet Minister in the Department of Forest and Labour, Punjab Government was the Chief Guest and Kamal Sharma, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Punjab as Guest of Honour. 

Nine teams of colleges, SBS State Technical Campus (Poly Wing), Ferozepur, Govt. Polytechnical, Ferozpepur, Govt. Polytechnic College Guru Tegh Bahadurgarh, Moga, LLRM Polytechnic College, Ajitwal, YRS Polytechnic College, Moga, Radiance Polytechnic College, Pahuwind, Tarn Taran, Sant Kabir Polytechnic College, Fazilka, Govt. Polytechnic College, Bhikhiwind, GTB Khalsa Polytechnic College Chhapianwalai, Malout,from six districts participated in three day’s tournament.

YRS Polytechnic College, Moga team won the tournament by defeating home team of SBS State Technical Campus (Poly Wing) by 11 runs.

Welcoming the chief guest and guest of hounour, Dr. T. S. Sidhu,Director, SBS Technical Campus said, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus is marching ahead in various fields for the overall personality development of the students besides imparting technical knowledge in various disciplines.   He further said, the polytechnic zonal level games would strengthen he social bonds amongst the colleges and sports lovers besides creating a sportsmanship amongst the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Surjeet Kumar Jyani, Cabinet Minister congratulated the winning YRS Polytechnic College, Moga team.  He emphasises upon the need for encouraging today’s youth of Punjab towards sports for fighting social evils especially the drug abuse. A grant of Rs.5 lakhs was also announced for the development of various activities in SBS State Technical Campus.
