Ferozepur, January 27, 2013:  Sri Brahaman Sabha, Ferozepur has threatened to sit on indefinite strike, infront of the DC Office, Ferozepur in case all the government and private buses do not start entering the main bus stand in  Feozpeur City, within a period of one month.

Hari Ram Khindri, president Sri Brahaman Sabha said, all the buses do not enter the Ferozepur City Bus Stand, constructed at a cost of about Rs.4 crore and all the buses by dropping the passengers at Ferozepur Cantt bus stand moves for further long routes towards Fazilka, Muktsar, Amrisar and Bahtinda.

He further said in 2002, the bus stand was constructed with crores of rupees and at that time all the long route buses used to pass through the city bus stand and for the last years they have stopped entering the city bus stand.  Even certain transporters have got their licences cancelled and extended it upto Ferozpeur Cantt only.  The local NGOs, have made a representation to the district administration number of times but no action has so far been taken causing inconvenience to the people.  The people of the city have to go to Cantt to board the bus for longer routes by paying extra cost to the auto-rickshaw.  Moreover, the rickshaw pullers income have also gone down and despite assurance by various leaders to the them, the old practice of entering of all buses in Ferozpeur City bus stand could not be revived.
