Sri Onkar Eye & Ent Care Centre organizes blood donation camp
On the auspicious occasion of 108th birthday of late Shri Onkar Dass Agarwal, a blood donation camp was organized at Shri Onkar Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital in Ambala city on Sunday.
Ambala, December 4, 2022: On the auspicious occasion of 108th birthday of late Shri Onkar Dass Agarwal, a blood donation camp was organized at Shri Onkar Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital in Ambala city on Sunday. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by dignitaries such as Dr. VK Dogra, Vishal Verma (President , Bhartiya Yog Sansthan ) , Squadron Leader Sachidanand Agarwal and Pankaj Malhotra .
In the Blood Donation Camp 33 units of blood was collected in collaboration with the team of the city civil hospital. The organizers also sensitized people about the necessity and safety of participation in Blood Donation Programs for Community benefit. In addition, doctors as well as staff of Shri Onkar Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital also donated blood voluntarily. After proper donor screening and medical examination of all voluntary donors, around 33 donors donated blood for the noble cause.
Director of the hospital, Dr. Rishi Gautam and Dr. Jaspreet said “A healthy person between the age of 18 to 65 years can donate blood every four months. It takes only 8 minutes to donate blood and 350 ml of blood is collected. Blood donation of one person can give life to three people. We are happy that he camp witnessed active participation from a lot of people and our staff who volunteered to donate blood for this noble cause. Through such events, our aim is to raise awareness for the need of safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. Onkar Hospital will continue to contribute to the society in such social work.”
