Sri Vishnu Educational Society Signs MoU with Penn State University for Collaborative Research

Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) and Penn State University and its constituent colleges signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish ties of friendship and collaboration between involved institutions to promote academic, cultural, and personnel exchange.

Hyderabad: November 15, 2023: Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) and Penn State University and its constituent colleges signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish ties of friendship and collaboration between involved institutions to promote academic, cultural, and personnel exchange.

 
Pennsylvania State University, commonly known as Penn State, is a prominent public research university located in the United States. Penn State was founded in 1855 as the Farmers' High School of Pennsylvania and has since grown into one of the largest and most prestigious public universities in the United States. The Pennsylvania State University is a multi-campus, land-grant, public research university that educates students from around the world and supports individuals and communities through integrated programs of teaching, research, and service.

Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) is an educational society run by visionaries right from its inception in 1992.
 

K. V. Vishnu Raju, Chairman of SVES has consistently instilled a sense of purpose and commitment to drive the cause of education for students of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.  With 4 sprawling campuses spread across various locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, SVES presently has 9 constituent colleges with over 22,000 students offering programs in Engineering, Dental, Pharmacy, BSc, Management, MCA and Polytechnic. The Engineering Colleges under SVES that will benefit from this association are BV Raju Institute of Technology, BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women, Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women and Vishnu Institute of Technology.
 

The MoU was formally executed by the Letter of Intent that was signed by: Tonya Peeples, Interim Harold Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering, Penn State, Roger Brindley, Vice Provost for Penn State Global and KV Vishnu Raju, Chairman, SVES, Aditya Vissam (Alumni of Penn State University), Secretary, SVES and Ravichandran Rajagopal, Vice Chairman, SVES.  Other esteemed dignitaries present were: Raju Manthena, Director, Vishnu Dental College, SVES, Akhlesh Lakhtakia, Evan Pugh University Professor, Penn State, Madhavan Swaminathan, Chair, Electrical Engineering, Penn State.


This strategic partnership between Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) and Penn State University is set to reshape the landscape of education in SVES. In this program, SVES faculty members will collaborate with Professors from Penn State University to jointly execute projects in the domains of Electronics, Electrical and Computer Science Engineering. This collaboration also offers students the opportunity to complete a professional Master’s degree program in Microwave Engineering and Semiconductor Packaging to get exposure to cutting-edge research and development.
 

Letter of Intent gives a wide scope of building the foundation for thrust areas of research covering next generation wireless and communication technologies (5G and 6G), Antenna Design, Semiconductor technology packaging, Nanomaterials, Sustainability and green technologies. The support from Penn State University is a long-term strategy in the form of collaborative research and skill development in development of Semiconductor research ecosystem at SVES.
 

Vishnu Raju, Chairman, SVES stated that Semiconductor Skilling has been a focus for SVES / BVRIT with Industry support for a decade now. He emphasized that the partnership with Penn State shall help to do advanced research & development and skilling in Semiconductor design, packaging and supply chain areas. He noted that Semiconductor Manufacturing is currently a high priority for Indian Government which is actively attracting Investments to India in the Semiconductor Eco-system which needs highly skilled talent.
