SSP directs officers to pull up their socks for holding assembly polls in a free, fair and peaceful manner

Nawanshahr, February 1, 2022: Senior Superintendent of Police Kanwardeep Kaur directed the officers of the police department to pull up their socks for ensuring free, fair and peaceful assembly polls.
Inspecting various nakas of police along with CAPF, SSP said that Police and CAPF have made elaborate security arrangements for these elections.
She directed the officers minutely look into all the arrangements involved in the election process to ensure that polling gets concluded in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
She said that any sort of laxity in performing the duty is totally unwarranted and undesirable.
SSP asked the police officers to ensure complete synchronization with their civil counterparts for performing their election duty diligently.
She said that the duties pertaining to implementation of Cvigil, Flying Squad Teams, Static Surveillance Teams and others are formed with active participation of civil officers.
SSP said that besides this due attention must be paid for maintaining law and order in the district.
Kaur categorically asked the officers to ensure that no one takes the law in their hand during the elections.
She said that anyone trying to disturb the peaceful conduct of these elections should be dealt sternly as per the law.
SSP also asked the officers to ensure that strict vigil is kept on the anti-social elements through the patrolling parties of Police deployed across the district.
SSP said that the district Police would uphold the glorious tradition of conducting free and fair elections in a peaceful atmosphere across the district.
Kaur said that Police officers would ensure that every eligible voter is able to cast his vote freely thereby strengthening the democracy as grass root level.
