St. Francis College for Women held farewell celebrations to its outgoing students

Hyderabd, March 29, 2022: St. Francis College for Women celebrated Farewell for its outgoing UG & PG batches on Monday. The celebration witnessed the honoring of the students with special recognitions, Miss. Francis contest and the cultural vaganza. The farewell was organnised for 1800 students

Addressing students on the occasion, the Principal Rev.Dr.Sr. Sandra Horta told them "You are not merely literates, you are educated women. Translate all that you have learnt during these years to make this world a happy place for yourself and for all of us.” she said.

Students who contributed to the institution namely  B.Mary Antony, A. Chakritha, P. Sri Shiva Priya, GVB Tejashwini, Heral Patel, Yagna Priya, Akshita and Shimron were felicitated.

Various cultural programmes held to mark the occasion.

Miss Francis contest held. The participants were selected through a  written test. Of the 110 young women who appeared for the test, 27 were shortlisted to participate in the talent round on 21 March, which saw the students put their best foot forward to impress the judges. 15 students were finally chosen to take to the stage on the big day.

The Miss Francis contest was judged by Ms.Anitha Chowdary, an Indian actress and a Television anchor and Ms.Nivedita Suravaram, a media expert from the cross spectrum of the media industry. The event was further graced by their presence. In round one of Miss Francis, the students had to introduce themselves creatively. The judges were put to test with the spectacular performance on the stage.

Following this, the college choir gave a special performance by singing the stellar hits, Payanametu pothunna and yoro dosti. The students were entranced by the rhythmic melody of the Nightingales.

When the judges had finalized the results of round one of Miss Francis, it was time for the shortlisted contestants to once again take the stage for the question round. The 10 shortlisted contestants were asked questions like, "Who would you say is an ideal Indian and why?" and "Which is the more rampant problem in India: women security or patriarchy?.”  The judges were thoroughly impressed by the spontaneity and wit of the participants.

This was followed by a series of dance performances by students and the faculty.

Ms.Nivedita Suravaram addressed the students, “Besides appreciating the students for their spectacular performance, she wished them to excel in life in whatever fields they are in.”

Ms.Anita Chowdary, in her address, stressed upon having a clear goal in life towards which one must work. Come what may work for your goals and achieve them and that gives a satisfaction for life.”

It was followed by announcing the much awaited results with Ms.Pranavi being crowned the title of Miss Talented 2022, Ms.Tanvi with the title of Miss Vivacious, Ms.Akshita with the title of Miss Best Dressed, Ms.Trisha with the title of Miss Francis Second Runner-up, Ms.Mishika with the title of Miss Francis First Runner-up and Ms.Saugandhika with being crowned with the title of Miss Francis 2K22.
