Stage all set for counting of votes
Elaborate arrangements made for counting to in 141 rounds for Ludhiana PC
Ludhiana, June 3, 2024: The counting for the Ludhiana parliamentary constituency would be held in 141 rounds for which elaborate arrangements have been made by the district administration.
District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney on Monday took stock of the entire arrangements made in this regard. She said that the adequate number of police personnel had been deployed in the counting centres for the smooth and hassle free counting process besides making strenuous efforts for the streamlining parking system. She said that every effort would be made to ensure that the counting of the votes was held peacefully and in a congenial atmosphere.
Sawhney said that the counting of votes/postal ballots would start at 8 am in the morning in the presence of the Observers, candidates of the political parties and their representatives. She said that district administration had already made elaborate security arrangements for the security of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the VVPAT Machines, for which the Para Military Force has been deployed at the counting centres. Likewise, she said that round the clock surveillance of the machines was also being ensured through the CCTV cameras that have been installed in the premises of the counting centre.
Sawhney said that the entry of the candidates, their representatives, media persons and others would be strictly through the identity cards issued by the Election Commission of India.
