Ludhiana, April 10, 2024: Munjal Birmingham City University Cente of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MBCIE), in collaboration with ICICI Bank and Indian Entrepreneurs Collective, is organizing Start-Up Samagam, a marquee event bringing the stakeholders of the startup ecosystem together, on April 12 at Park Plaza, Ludhiana.
Addressing the media persons here today, SK Rai, Vice Chairman, Hero Cycles Ltd; Dr Prem Kumar, Executive Director, MBCIE; Ayush Jain, Executive Member, Indian Entrepreneurs Collective; and Shibananda Dash, Director, Incubation Center, MBCIE, added Startup Samagarn is beyond pitching and the aim is to create an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship right in the city of Ludhiana, which has always been a sweet home to entrepreneurs. However, a formal structured system of startups is grossly missing in the city and MBCIE, in association with every stakeholder, wants to address the pressing issue. Samagam is just the first step in that direction.
The Startup Samagam is a congregation of heavyweights from industry and business houses. SK Munjal, Chairman, Hero Enterprise & and MBCIE will be the Chief Guest at the event. Harkesh Mittal, Chairman, Startup India Seed Fund Committee and former Advisor, Ministry of Science & Technology & will be a Guest of Honor along with Sachit Jain. Managing Director Vardhaman Special Steels, Dr David Mba, Vice-Chancellor, Birmingham City University, United Kingdom will deliver the keynote address.
The highlight of the event will be to sensitize the Ludhiana Investing Populace regarding the advantage of startup investment. In this regard, MBCIE is inaugurating Ludhiana Angels Network (LAN) to help early-stage startups to get a formal platform to secure funding and handholding support mainly from the business houses, the ones who have already walked the path LAN aims to promote startups in every possible so that the products get to the market. It will support investors to invest in the potential startups
The other highlight of the event is pitching of top seven startups, meticulously chosen from prestigious incubators like IIT Ropar IIT Mandi, IISER Mohali Punjab Agricultural University, Chitkara University, Innovation Mission Punjab, NIT Jalandhar and MBCIE. These young innovators will pitch their ideas to a panel of esteemed investors, vying for the chance to secure funding and turn their dreams into reality Apart from that, the other highlight.
For those seeking to navigate the intricacies of startup investment and valuation, a dedicated session featuring experts like Saurabh Jain (Ex VP Paytm), Mihir Patel (ICICI Bank) and Rajnish Garg (INVasset PMS) will be organized to provide invaluable knowledge.
Industrial networking is a cornerstone of Start Up Samagam The event will facilitate a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to interact with industry leaders, exchange ideas. and forge partnerships that could shape the future. This crucial interaction will be further bolstered by the support of ICICI Bank and the Indian Entrepreneurs' Collective.
15 additional startups will display their innovative products. The event promises to be a melting pot of creativity and progress, attracting over 100 stakeholders, including representatives from Ludhiana's top 30 business houses.
