State level celebrations of 15th National Voters' Day held in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, January 25, 2025: The state level celebrations of 15th National Voters Day were held in Ludhiana on Saturday. 
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Harish Nayar presided over the event. Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Sakatar Singh Bal, Additional Deputy Commissioners Amarjit Bains, Kulpreet Singh and others were also present. 
The event commenced with a bike rally in which hundreds of youths riding Harley Davidson and other super-bikes disseminated the message of Right to Vote among the people. 
During the state-level function, the election officials were felicitated for their exemplary services during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
The recipients included Mansa Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Jitendra Jorwal, Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, Director Youth Services Harpreet Singh Sudan, IAS, Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal. Goyal received the award on the behalf of Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, ADC Ropar Pooja Syal Grewal, ADC Jagraon Kulpreet Singh, Moga Sveep Nodal Officer Shubhi Angra, Ferozepur Election Tehsildar Chand Parkash, PWD cyclist Manmohan Singh, Best ERO Kuldeep Bawa, Best Sveep Nodal Officer  Harjot Singh, Best BLO Karamjeet Kaur, 
and others. 
The winners of Punjab Election Quiz-2025 Sumeet Narula from Moga received Laptop, Gurleen Kaur from Patiala and Lavish from Mohali felicitated with Tablets and Smart Watch by the Chief Guest. 
A video message of Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar was also played during the event. The Electoral Literacy Club portal was also launched and the Sveep Coffee Table book was released during the event. First Time voters were also given EPIC cards. 
The winners of Poster making, Mehandi, speech competitions were also felicitated. Students from the Red Cross Deaf and Dumb School and other educational institutions also presented a cultural program. 
Motivating the youth to exercise their right to vote in the elections, Additional Chief Electoral Officer exhorted them to vote in large numbers. He told them about the importance of the day being celebrated from January 25, 2011, and to protect the democracy, voting is one of the greatest tools given by our constitution.
Nayar added that casting the vote is our duty and everyone should perform the duty sincerely as it will ensure the protection of the rights. He stated that we all feel proud to be residing in a free country like India, but all of us should also understand that India gained independence after a lot of struggle. He added that all of us should work hard for strengthening our democracy by exercising our right to vote, which is our duty as well.
Nayar also administered oath of exercising their right to vote in a free and fair manner to all those present on the occasion.
