State level event Gandhi Shilp Bazar begins at Ludhiana

State level event Gandhi Shilp Bazar begins at Ludhiana

Ludhiana, March 4, 2024: S.S. Memorial Educational Society, Chamkaur Sahib, District Ropar is organising State level event Gandhi Shilp Bazar from March 2-11 at Welcome Palace, Ludhiana. 

This mela is under the project of Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, Office of Development Commissioner (Handicraft). In this event, nearly 100 Handicraft and Handloom artisans from all over India having Id cards of the Ministry of Textiles are participating to demonstrate and sell their products. The artisans attending the event have been provided stalls free of cost.

 

The mela was inaugurated by Vikas Kumar, Principal Commissioner, Central Goods and Service Tax Commissionerate, Ludhiana on March 3. The ceremony was presided over by Rajat Verma, Sr. Assistant Director, O/o Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Hoshiarpur. N. K. Thaman, Advocate GST was the special guest for the occasion. Prof. R.C Dhand, Chairman, S.S. Memorial Educational Society, along with his team, welcomed and honoured the Guests.

The managing committee of the society  made all arrangements for the event. The ceremony was attended by leading industrialists of Ludhiana, Deepak Rishi, Bhupesh Arora, Harvinder Thapar, Harminder Singh, P. K. Thaman, Advocate GST, Sumit Ohri, CHA and Vaneet Nanda, CA, among others. 

The chief guest Vikas Kumar and other guests were very impressed with the products displayed and asked Ludhianvis to visit the mela to experience the diverse culture of India. The organisers also requested Ludhianavis to visit the mela to support Handloom and Handicraft and encourage the artisans.
