STATE-LEVEL FUNCTION TO COMMEMORATE MARTYRDOM DAY OF SHAHEED KARNAIL SINGH ISSRU ON AUGUST 15

Issru (Ludhiana), August 4, 2018: A state-level function to commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Karnail Singh Issru, the first Punjabi Martyr of ‘Goa Liberation Movement’ would be organised at the grain market in village Issru, near Khanna (District Ludhiana) on August 15, 2018. Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and other prominent persons would attend this function and pay tributes to this great martyr.

A meeting in this regard was organised today, which as attended by Khanna MLA Mr Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Payal MLA Mr Lakhbir Singh Lakha, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, SSP Mr Dhruv Dahiya and other senior officials of District Administration. During the meeting, all officials were directed to start preparations about this function. They said that keeping in mind the high number of people attending this function, strict security arrangements should be put into place. Senior officials from different government departments were also present during the meeting.

SSP Mr Dhruv Dahiya informed that keeping in mind the heavy inflow of vehicles, the traffic would be diverted on this day. ADC Mr Ajay Sood, SDM Khanna Mr Sandeep Singh and other officials were also present in the meeting.
