STATE-LEVEL FUNCTION TO COMMEMORATE MARTYRDOM DAY OF SHAHEED KARNAIL SINGH ISSRU ON AUGUST 15

Khanna (Ludhiana), August 13, 2018: A state-level function to commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Karnail Singh Issru, the first Punjabi Martyr of ‘Goa Liberation Movement’ would be organised at the grain market in village Issru, near Khanna (District Ludhiana) on August 15, 2018. Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and other prominent persons would attend this function and pay tributes to this great martyr. Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal today held a review meeting at the grain market in Issue village and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials. He informed that this function would also be attended by several Cabinet Ministers, MP’s, MLA’s and other prominent persons. The Deputy Commissioner also visited the temporary helipad as well as the statue of Shaheed Karnail Singh Issru. Mr Agrawal informed that a big tent has been set up for public and directed the officials to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put into place so that public does not suffer. He also directed SSP Khanna Mr Dhruv Dahiya to ensure ample parking and traffic arrangements for public. Khanna SSP Mr Dhruv Dahiya informed that keeping in mind the heavy inflow of vehicles, the traffic would be diverted on this day. ADC Khanna Mr Ajay Sood, SDM Khanna Mr Sandeep Singh and senior officials from other departments were also present on the occasion.
