Step forward towards hygiene and cleanliness by PU Girls Hostels
The incinerators will further ensure safe disposal of used napkins
Chandigarh: As part of the commitment of Panjab University towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan , the girls hostels will be installing 400 dustbins, 38 sanitary incinerators and 8 sanitary napkin vending machines which have been provided by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited as part of its CSR initiative.
The dustbins will be used for segregation of organic and inorganic waste in the hostels. The sanitary napkin vending machine will provide sanitary napkins to the residents of the hostels at cheaper rate and at all times. The incinerators will further ensure safe disposal of used napkins.
These dustbins, sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators were today handed over by the Dean Student Welfare, Professor S.K. Tomar and Dean Student Welfare, Women,Professor Sukhbir Kaur to all the hostel wardens. On this occasion, DSWs thanked HPCL for this contribution and applauded the efforts of Dr Namita Gupta, Warden Girls Hostel No.- 6 for coordination with HPCL and facilitation in this CSR initiative. They urged all the wardens to set highest standards of hygiene in the hostels by creating awareness and continuous monitoring.
