Chandigarh, March 22, 2024: On Friday, the University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development hosted a street play titled “Ik Soch: Bodies Perish, Thought Remains.” The event was organized under the leadership of Chairperson Prabhdip Brar, Ph.D. and Kulbir Kaur, JRF with the active participation of the department’s students.
The play, a creative endeavor of the department, was conceptualized and scripted by B.Sc. semester IV students Arsh Garg and Sidak Kaur. The performance featured Pratigya Chopra, Shamsher Singh, Ekamjot Kaur, Gurkiran Kaur, and Mandeep Kaur, who brought to life the dialogues between Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his jailer and hawaldar during his final days of imprisonment.
“Ik Soch” aimed to convey that the essence of martyrdom is not about causing chaos or disruption. Instead, it emphasized the importance of raising one’s voice for justice, taking responsibility for one’s actions, and not hiding behind the crowd. The play served as an inspiration for the youth, encouraging them to uphold justice and responsibility in all aspects of life.
