STRIKE: AIBEA opposes Banking Laws (Amendment} Bill

Ferozepur, December 20, 2012: A section of public sector bank employees have gone on nation-wide strike today to protest the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, affecting normal banking operations in some banks.

In Ferozepur, the All India Bank Employees Association observed complete strike in the banks to register the protest. 

Sukhdeep Bhardwaj, Organising Secretary, State Bank of Patiala Federation, Kanwaljeet Bhai, Pardeep Kakkar, Tarsem Gaurav, GAngga Ram Pawar, Sukhdev Singh, Neelam and Prem Sharma of Canara Bank said, the association condemns the action of the government in giving license for opening of new banks in the private sector which it wants to get Banking Amendment Bill through immediately.

They further said, there is no stringent law to recover the amount from the defaulter banks and the government must formulate a policy on this account.

The bank employees also protested the policy of the government to merge the banks and also appealed to the government to accept all their pending demands so that common may not face any difficulty.
