Dharamshala, June 16, 2017: Alok Kumar of Muzaffarpur of Bihar was arrested by Himachal police today on charges of hacking website and tempering mark sheets of NIFT Kangra, where he was studying.
Confirming this, DSP Kangra Mr Surinder Kumar said that Alok was arrested under Sections 419, 420, 465, 467,468,120-B of the IPC and Sections 65, 66-C and 66-D of the IT Act.
Giving more details, SP Dharamshala Mr.S Gandhi said, “Director NIFT reported that someone has hacked the official website of NIFT on which they have uploaded the result and they found that tampering has been done with marks on various mark sheets. On this, a case was registered under various sections of the IPC and the IT Act.”
Gandhi added investigation is being done by SHO Kangra. The preliminary investigations revealed that one Alok Kumar who is from Muzaffarpur (Bihar) and a student of fashion designing (8th semester) hacked pass word of official website and increased marks in mark sheet of his own and also of other students. It has been found on his laptop history. The accused been arrested, he said.
