Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College celebrated 75th Republic Day
The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar celebrated 75th Republic Day with great enthusiasm on 26th January 2024. Dr. Pradeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College, graced the occasion as the chief guest and Mr. Roshan Lal, Social activist and Green Ambassador alongwith Mrs. Saroj Kapoor, Community facilitator were the guests of honour.
Jalandhar, January 26, 2024: The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar celebrated 75th Republic Day with great enthusiasm on Friday. Dr. Pradeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College, graced the occasion as the chief guest and Mr. Roshan Lal, Social activist and Green Ambassador alongwith Mrs. Saroj Kapoor, Community facilitator were the guests of honour.
The dignitaries were accorded a hearty welcome by Prof. Surjit Kaur, Prof. Sonia Kalra -Event Coordinators,Teaching and Non Teaching Staff, NCC cadets and students.
The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National flag and the National Anthem. The students of various departments of the college and DC Collegiate School, namely Namrata, Pooja, Arti, Ishita, Vigyaan, Shubham, Aanchal, Tania, Yuvraj, Komal, Harman and Khushi gave colourful performances in the form of patriotic dance, poems, patriotic songs, group dance and aroused the spirit of love for motherland among all. They also pledged themselves to uphold the sanctity on National Voters’ Day and Quality Bharat Mission.
Principal, Dr. Pradeep Bhandari, addressed the august gathering and appraised them about the relevance of Republic Day. He expressed his gratitude towards the defense services and urged everyone to work with in spirit of competition of contribution to make India a developed nation. He also highlighted the importance of sustainable development for multi-dimensional progress of the country.
The guests of honour were presented mementos for their commendable social work.Teachers and students who completed various courses on online Swayam portal were honoured on this occasion. Prizes were also given to the winners of Essay writing, Slogan writing, Poster making, painting making, and speech competitions held on National Unity Day.
The event culminated with Doaba Gaan. Prof. Priya Chopra and student Anukriti conducted the stage effectively.
