Jalandhar, January 14, 2025: The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar, organized Holy Hawan Yajna to seek blessings of Almighty on commencement of Even semester on Tuesday. 

Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College, was the Chief Guest of the event. He was accorded a floral welcome by the faculty members, non-teaching staff and students of the college.

Hawan Yajna was solemnized amidst chanting of mantras and offering of ‘aahuties’ in the sacred fire to seek divine blessings for a productive and fruitful year ahead.

Ishita, a student of BSc(Med) Sem VI explained the scientific and religious importance of Makar Sakranti.

Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, in his inspiring address, congratulated the students on commencement of Makar Sakranti, the Indian New Year. He highlighted the importance of Holy Yajna as a spiritio-chemical activity. He also encouraged the students to be inquisitive to do in-depth study and wished them all a bright future ahead.

Several students, namely, Tejas, Komal, Ritika,  Navneet, Navreet  Vaishali and Kritika from various departments of the institution gave spectacular performances in the form of bhajan, Punjabi dance and group dance.

Faculty members were honoured on the successful completion of Skill Development Courses.Non-Teaching staff members who have birthdays in this month were also given gifts on the occasion. Dr. Priya Chopra, Tejas and Priyanka conducted the stage.

The ceremony culminated with a vote of thanks by Bipasha, the Head girl and was followed by Prasad distribution.
